I have a serious concern about our children in foster care.
When children are faraway from their homes, and are placed with households and/or individuals to like and deal with them, part of our jobs is to look out for their best interests. I'm finding out it does not always work out that way. In the present day, our children are deprived. Nobody really talks in regards to the foster care system and the children which are placed in our homes. We do, however hear when a child is returned residence and something bad happens because somebody failed to do their job. Well, I am a foster mother or father and I am keen to speak out for these children's interests. Children are faraway from their houses for numerous reasons. When that occurs, they are with strangers. It's a challenge and a blessing for each foster parents and the children. We attempt to help Rhode Island the children until the parents are ready to take them back into their homes.
Because of the economic system and reducebacks, these children are being deprived of things that they need to be doing. I've a ten year old and a twelve yr old. My twelve year old is being deprived from day camp because the economy is so bad. This child can be sitting at home for the rest of the summer because nobody is willing to stand up and struggle for him. I perceive the economy. We all really feel it. However I additionally feel as if these children are going to be suffering they usually do not know why. We have to look at this in a realistic means for our children. They've been taken away from his/her family. They've been with us for awhile and are comfortable. They've made a bond with us. They feel protected and secure. It's all the time a waiting game because they don't know when their world goes to vary again. They've excelled in school. Now that school is out for the summer time, their reward is basically 0. Foster care is telling me that because of funds cuts, he can solely go to camp for 2 weeks. Then he must keep house for the remainder of the summer.
I thought the system was designed to assist these children who have already misplaced so much. What are we as foster mother and father to do? It does harm to see this happen. We do what we are able to for our children, but unfortunately, we can't afford to pay for this either. So for as soon as, I think we need to look out for our children. Our children should be active. They have to be able to socialize and work together with their peers. What sort of messages are we really sending them? Please let's arise and do a little bit better for our children. These children are our future for generations to come. I think the federal government ought to really do something for them to let them know that they're worth something to our country. As I stated earlier, I know the economy is bad but our future is actually at the hands of our children. I am not blaming our caseemployees, social employees, legislation guardians or the court system. I think the government ought to really give some thought as how help our children to develop and succeed.
